Malacorhynchus membranaceus
Zebra plumage. Filter feeding ducks which are often found in vast flocks. Long, grey, square-ended, spatulated bill. Large brown eye patches on a finely barred white face. Small cerise ear patch. Upperparts are brown and wings have a white trailing edge. Bold white rump crescent. Underwings are white and finely barred with brown. Undertail is buff, top is brown with a white tip.
