Merops orientalis orientalis
Smallest of all the local Bee-eaters and the only one with a pale green throat. Bronze rear crown, chestnut underwings. Sexes are alike. Often perched in pairs or in small groups on wires or branches darting out to feed on passing insects and then return to perch.
