Calidris ferruginea
Elegant, small wader with a long decurved black bill. Long black legs. It’s similar to the Dulin but has a longer neck, bill and legs. In non-breeding plumage they appear grey with a distinct white supercilia. In breeding plumage, they have a deep brick red appearance with a white chin and black, grey and rufous upperparts. Juveniles are a scaly-brown and grey above with a peachy coloured breast. Sexes are alike.
