Peppergrass
Barn Swallow
Hirundo rustica
A large, blue and black swallow which has a deeply forked tail. Tail streamers vary in length due to age and sex. Juveniles do not have tail streamers, and adult males have the longest. A white band can be seen across the under-tail. White underparts. The race tytleri have a rufous underside. Forehead and throat are a rusty red, complete with a blue breast band. Wings are long and pointed.
