Streptopelia chinensis ceylonensis
A medium-sized pinkish grey dove with large white spots on wings and the back of its neck. It can have a deep pink head which can also be grey on the fore crown and underparts. Tail is dark with broad white boarders. Both sexes look alike. These birds inhabit open deciduous forests, cultivations, villages, parks and gardens. When disturbed they fly nosily in short burst.Usually found in pairs or very small groups when feeding.
