Peppergrass
Garden Lizard

Calotes versicolor
My cousin and I have named this particular lizard “Him”. He has been living in our garden for a few years now, and since he has found himself a safe heaven, he has grown big and fat. These lizards change colour in order to reflect their moods, which is pretty neat.During the breeding season, the male’s head and shoulders will turn a bright orange which borders crimson and his throat turns black. They also turn red after a successful battle with other lizards or other species of animal. Both males and females have a crest that runs along their spins from head to their rump.
