Indian Peafowl

Pavo cristatus

As national bird in India, the Indian Peafowl is a resident breeder to the country. It’s also found all over the world! Even saw a bunch crossing the road in Miami. As seen in the picture, males are brightly coloured unlike the females which are a dull brown. According to local legend here at home, peafowl tail feathers are bad luck, or they are the bringers of death. I really can’t remember. I can safely say though, that this is a load of hodge-podge.
